Tap rooms have been shut down, while businesses have had to adapt to a lack of foot traffic and extended stays. Many have embraced curbside pick-up and delivery, but that’s only produced a fraction of what many local operations need to continue.
The Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism was founded to produce solid independent reporting across Massachusetts. In recent years, we have expanded that mandate to include helping rebuild local news from the ground up. And we pursue both linked missions in the public interest. Therefore, we absolutely depend on the public—readers like you—to donate the funds we need to keeping afflicting the comfortable and comforting the afflicted. So please dig deep and donate whatever you can, as often as you can. The democracy you save may be your own.
