BINJ PARTNERS WITH OUTLETS ACROSS THE US FOR COVER STORY ON FENTANYL CRISIS

IMAGE VIA BOULDER WEEKLY

Since publishing “Fentanyl in the Family” about author Ben Westhoff’s dive into the “deadliest wave of the opioid epidemic” via DigBoston and BINJ last month, we have worked with several alternative weekly outlets across the US through the Association of Alternative Newsmedia (AAN) to push the feature further.

Our team is dedicated to covering the opioid scourge through our F.I.G.H.T. Opiates program, and since these drugs are ripping through communities everywhere, we have been working to disseminate our reporting as far and wide as possible. So far, the outlets listed below have co-published, with some adding graphics and/or sections that highlight particulars about the epidemic in their regions:

  • Boulder Weekly (Colorado)

  • Chico News & Review (California)

  • Coachella Valley Independent (California)

  • Little Village (Iowa)

Thanks to all of the reporters and editors who have worked with us to get this important piece out there already, and to those who have informed us that they are publishing it in the near future. Also keep an eye out for a video interview that BINJ collaborator and Boston-based filmmaker Johnny Hickey did with Ben Westhoff about his epic new book, Fentanyl, Inc.
